Ashley Benner
Policy Analyst
Ashley Benner is a Policy Analyst for the Enough Project at American Progress. She focuses on areas affected by the Lord's Resistance Army in the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Uganda.
For more than five years, Ashley has worked on human rights, conflict resolution, and environmental protection issues. Most recently, she worked as a consultant researching the prevention of mass atrocities and violent conflict with the U.S. Institute of Peace and as a consultant with the International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect. She has also been involved in a project in West Africa developing conflict resolution best practices and peacemaking indicators.
Ashley received a B.A. in peace and justice studies and economics from Wellesley College and a master of international affairs from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, where she focused on human rights, conflict resolution, and U.N. studies. She is proficient in oral and written French and a beginner in Swahili.
