Anne Shoup

Associate Director for Media Strategy

Anne Shoup is the Associate Director for Media Strategy at American Progress. Prior to joining the press team, Anne was a Research Associate for Senior Fellow Scott Lilly, focusing on the areas of governance, congressional ethics, federal budgeting, and the economy. Anne also works on American Progress’s film series Reel Progress. In this capacity, Anne researches and secures films, and organizes and manages screenings.

Before joining American Progress, Anne was the assistant to the president of AmericaSpeaks, whose mission is to engage citizens in the policy decisions that impact their lives. In this position, Anne had the opportunity to work at several of AmericaSpeaks' town meetings, including the opening plenary session of the World Economic Forum's 2005 annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Originally from southwestern Pennsylvania, Anne graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College with a degree in political science and a minor in communication arts. Anne is member of Phi Beta Kappa.
