Percil Stanford
Percil Stanford was named chief diversity officer for the American Association of Retired Persons, or AARP, in December 2005. He has also served as the regional director for the AARP West Region and as the interim director of the National AARP State Affairs Department working on state advocacy issues. Dr. Stanford is widely recognized for his expertise on issues associated with minority aging. His professional involvement includes working in the U.S. Administration on Aging; the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare; and both houses of the U.S. Congress. For many years, Dr. Stanford was associated with San Diego State University where he continues to serve as professor emeritus.
